A brief description of the sustainability coordinator’s position:
Under the direction of the Manager, Custodial and Administration, the Sustainability Assistant is responsible for analyzing the viability of sustainability initiatives recommended by the Sustainability Task Force and Sustainability Program Coordinator. The Assistant also researches sustainability opportunities for the Task Force’s consideration and develops implementation plans for approved initiatives. Initiatives are considered using a cost benefit analysis based on economic, environmental and social justice (or triple-bottom-line) elements.
The assistant is responsible for the collection and analysis of data related to the present efficiency of sustainability initiatives. The assistant is responsible for recommending improvements based on the analysis of the data collection. The assistant is responsible for research and development of future initiatives. The analyst is responsible for the implementation and coordination of sustainability initiatives and programs. The assistant is responsible for the maintenance of existing and development of new programs, projects, events and relationships that improve the University’s sustainable position.
