A brief description of the campaign(s):
the program is to get people to
1) explore and understand the social, economic, and environmental impacts their choices have on the world,
2) engage themselves to rethink, reduce, reuse, and recycle in that order,
3) transform themselves, wherever possible, into a more sustainably aware and educated individual, and
4) use the knowledge and experience they gain at Saint Mary’s to improve the sustainability of the communities in which they live, learn and work.
One of the events that goes on every year since the start of the program is a competition between the three residences on campus. The first year it was to reduce energy consumption and the second year was to reduce water consumption.

During the duration of the residence water challange we saw a decrease in water consumption by 1%.
