Campus Climate Surveys are administered every two years to all students, faculty and staff. The results are shared with the campus community via presentations (e.g., to Staff Council and Faculty Senate committees) as well as posted online in comprehensive data tables and statistics related to diversity and educational equity. The most recent (2014) data tables and survey results can be found at:

The College surveys students using a variety of tools:
NSSE (National survey on student engagement)
CIRP - The Freshman Survey (TFS, administered to all incoming freshmen each fall), the Your First College Year (YFCY, administered to all freshmen upon completion of the first year) and the College Senior Survey (CSS, administered to all graduating seniors in the spring term)
ACUHO-EBI (all residential students)
Campus Climate Survey
Customized surveys for SMC, such as our New Incoming Freshman and Graduating Senior surveys

Results drawn from these survey instruments are shared with the Student Success Committee and with the Committee on Inclusive Excellence in addition to the appropriate offices (e.g. Residential Experience) to identify gaps or areas of strength and address policy, practice or programming.

Based on results from the past six Campus Climate surveys (2006-2014), specific programs were developed for faculty and staff, such as the Campus of Difference program.
