The St. Louis Regional Higher Education Sustainability Consortium (HESC) is a collaborative environment which supports and mentors regional higher ed institutions on sustainability initiatives. Semester workshops are hosted to guide institutions, bi-monthly meetings to encourage discussion and collaboration on hot topics, and other events to encourage collaboration amongst each other.

SLU has participated and presented at a number of sustainability conferences, regional seminars, webinars etc. These include but are not limited to presentations at the AASHE conference about how to effectively organize a month's worth of sustainable events that engage the campus community, and the Higher Ed Sustainability Consortium sharing information about our joint E-Waste/ShredMania event during the RecycleMania competition and sharing how we tracked data and organized a residence hall energy competition that saved money and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
