A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
The Division of Facilities Services has made a concentrated effort this past year to measure and track construction and demolition materials. In each new project that is managed by the Facilities Planning & Construction and Construction Services departments, waste streams are carefully considered in order to maximize the opportunity to divert materials from the landfill. Waste Management’s DART tool assists the University in tracking this information.
