A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:
Saint Louis University is devoted to diverting waste from landfills. SLU has implemented single-stream recycling service where all recycling materials can easily be dropped in the same recycling container. This combined service eliminates confusion, encourages recycling across campus, and greatly reduces the volume of recyclable waste that ends up in landfills.
