Has the institution engaged in a structured assessment process during the previous three years to improve diversity, equity and inclusion on campus?:

A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
In May 2021, a Campus Climate Survey, based on the 2018-2019 and 2020-2021 HEDS Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey, was sent out to all faculty, staff, students, and alumni to gauge campus climate in terms of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Additionally, the Human Resources Office conducted an internal audit of their practices, resulting in the College joining the Diversity Hiring Coalition of Maine, developing new language for job postings, and including DEI related resources in the Office's monthly mailings.

Does the assessment process address campus climate by engaging stakeholders to assess the attitudes, perceptions and behaviors of employees and students, including the experiences of underrepresented groups?:

Does the assessment process address student outcomes related to diversity, equity and success?:

Does the assessment process address employee outcomes related to diversity and equity?:

A brief description of the most recent assessment findings and how the results are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
Findings from the Campus Climate Survey demonstrated that ~67% of participants felt a sense of belonging on campus, ~66% of participants stated that they would feel comfortable sharing their views on diversity and equity at Saint Joseph's College, and over 25% of respondents stated that any disparaging remarks about other's identities were "often" or "very often" made by students. These results have initiated the first steps in implementing an academic JEDI requirement for all students, a revision of current Admissions practices, and targeted outreach to various community groups and organizations throughout Maine. Additionally, a new scholarship was created specifically for underrepresented students with financial need.

Are the results of the most recent structured diversity and equity assessment shared with the campus community?:
