Center for Sustainable Communities

A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
The CSC is co-coordinated by four faculty/staff. Members collaborate to educate campus community members on relevant sustainability issues and provides a platform for engagement in sustainability-related projects and practices. Additionally, the CSC organizes campaigns and projects to foster environmental awareness in the College community, sends regular email communications promoting programs, runs a sustainability film series, hosts a speaker series that focused on specific Maine environment issues, and plans the Sustainability Festival, which is an educational event intended to reach the entire campus community and surrounding local towns. These events are hosted annually and topics are relevant to current local, national, and global issues.
