Saint Joseph's College strives to ensure that all compensation/benefit practices are fair and equitable. The lowest paid part time employees (specifically adjunct faculty) are eligible for benefits based upon the definition of the ACA. These employees are also eligible to contribute to the College's pension plan. Saint Joseph's College engaged in a comprehensive FLSA status analysis in preparation for last year's anticipated Department of Labor change. Position descriptions were confirmed and analyzed to determine if the current FLSA status was correct, and if so, any salaries needing to be raised to the pending minimum of $47, 476 for the exempt status were increased. Although the anticipated DOL changes did not go into effect, the College proceeded with increasing salaries and as needed to demonstrate its commitment to an equitable wage. This analysis was broad in scope and included the lowest wage earners.
