A brief description of the employee diversity and employment equity assessment(s):
Ongoing review of program enhancements and development of new programs by HR Director and senior leadership team. An example of improvement resulting from identification of a general sense that staff had been excluded from decisions and planning has been implemented to improve relations between faculty and staff. Committees (budget, for example) have been formed to be more inclusive and blend the diverse perspectives of the entire campus community resulting in a greater sense of "shared vision."
Another example is provided by inclusion of the HR Director in senior leadership meetings, where the leadership team is advised of areas in need of focus and improvement.
The survey provides the basis for discussion and quarterly management meetings that address financial as well as other concerns pertaining to compensation, health and wellness, diversity, etc..
To improve general awareness of resources and new developments, and increased number of informational meetings and community forums have been conducted to address areas of concern about strategic planning, health benefits, compensation and health and wellness.
