A brief description of the mechanisms through which students have an avenue to participate in one or more governance bodies:
The Student Government Association is the voice of the student body. Its purpose is improving the quality of life for all students and it is the nucleus of student clubs, organizations and committees. All students are members of the Student Government Association (SGA) and are encouraged to be active in its governing boards. Student involvement is critical to SGA's success in understanding and meeting student needs.
The SGA currently sponsors and funds more than 20 different clubs and organizations, and we encourage students to propose new programs. Feel free to contact an SGA Executive Board member for more information on forming a new club or organization!
The SGA, working in conjunction with Student Activities, designs and implements programs, activities and events that help to meet the social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the student community. The SGA Executive Board oversees these initiatives.
Student Senate, which is facilitated by the Vice President of the Senate, is comprised of 20 student Senators that are elected in the fall semester of each year.

Since Spring of 2013, students have been encouraged to actively participate in the strategic planning process, through participation in the numerous scheduled open "visioning/listening" dialogues contributing to the drafting of the strategic plan that will result in a final draft in the Fall of 2014.
Students have generally been welcomed on a number of committees throughout the college, including the E-Team and the Sustainability Steering Committee.

All members of the campus community, including non supervisory staff have been included in the drafting process of the strategic plan that started in the Spring of 2013.. Without regard for position, title or rank, all employees have contributed to the drafting of a strategic narrative and very specific long range planning for college. In a spirit of creating a "shared vision" everyone's input is valued for potential to ensure the sustainability of the college. A final draft is expected to be published in the Fall of 2014.

Online Adjuncts do not participate in Faculty Senate.

A brief description of the formal faculty role in regard to each area indicated, including examples from the previous three years:
Through Faculty Senate, for which there is an elected Executive Committee, numerous committees, with elected memberships contribute to the overall establishment and prioritization of academic planning of programs and projects, including those related to areas of faculty employment and compensation. As members of the campus community, faculty also engage in long range strategic planning for the college through various venues designed to provide a forum for the contribution and advancement of ideas, knowledge and problem solving.
