Does the institution meter all energy consumption (electricity, natural gas, purchased steam, etc.) for at least one building?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the metering system:
Electrical meters were installed on all SJU campus buildings over the summer of 2009. While the meters themselves will not reduce energy use, they do allow anyone with a internet access to view real time electrical use per building and to review energy consumption over the past months. The meters serve as a tool for the Physical Plant to evaluate system efficiencies in order to identify buildings which are "energy hogs" and what building improvements might have the biggest impact on our overall energy use. The energy meters on SJU campus buildings monitor only electricity use for each particular building. The power house has extensive metering that measures steam, natural gas, fuel oil, electricity, and water usage for the whole campus.
