A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

St. John's has sent its food scraps to Barthold Recycling for several years in order to reduce the amount of waste entering landfills as well as allowing usable calories to reenter the food stream. Barthold collects the food waste and prepares it for use as pig feed at area pig farms.
