Although SJU does not have a written policy regarding interdisciplinary research and the tenure process; inter- and multi-disciplinary research has always been considered valid during the tenure decision-making process. As evidence, our institution's Environmental Studies department is has four faculty members, each who have participated in interdisciplinary research.
