Comprehensive policies, plans or guidelines that require LID practices for all new projects
A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
Rutgers has been at the forefront of green infrastructure for the last two decades. We have constructed hundreds of green infrastructure measures across our campuses as well as led many research studies on green infrastructure through our engineering school. The green infrastructure measures constructed as part of campus development have served as living laboratories for the engineering school to research and further advance the field of stormwater management engineering.
A copy of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines:
A brief description of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines that supports the responses above:
As part of campus-wide stormwater planning efforts, Rutgers has always taken a regional approach to stormwater management planning. The regional approach has allowed us to be efficient with our land planning and development while also meeting and exceeding state stormwater management requirements. Rutgers has often designed and successfully operated regional stormwater management facilities that meet stormwater management requirements for several developments within a single stormwater facility.
