A brief description of the institution’s community garden:

The Rutgers Community Garden "home base" is at 178 Jones Avenue, the site of our farmers market pavilion, children's garden, and community garden, Jardin de Esperanza. We grow vegetables, fruits, and flowers in raised beds, two hoop houses, and greenhouse space, and we keep an apiary and small flock of chickens on site. We offer regular educational programs on gardening, cooking, and nutrition topics, and we support school gardening efforts across New Brunswick.

The New Brunswick Community Farmers' Market is located on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and supports the development of a sustainable community by bringing healthy food from local farms to families and households across the city. View our mentions in the press to find out where we're making a difference.
Our mission is to ensure that all members of our community have access to healthy food. We strive to create healthy habits that last a lifetime, and to nourish New Brunswick from the ground up.

The New Brunswick Community Farmers Market (NBCFM) is a project in partnership with the City of New Brunswick, Rutgers Cooperative Extension, and Johnson & Johnson.
