RRU's diversity statement identifies diversity as the recognition and acknowledgement of multiple, overlapping identities that make up the local community. Such identities include: race, ethnicity, culture, nationality, linguistic origin, citizenship, colour, ancestry, place of origin, creed (religion, faith, spirituality), family status, marital status, ability or disability, sex, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, education, style, socio-economic class, and political belief but are also not limited in this scope. RRU believes that diversity enriches community and is committed to appreciating and celebrating the diversity of students, faculty, and staff. RRU works to increase understanding and acceptance of each other, making us more compassionate as a citizens and thus strengthening the relationships of our local and extended communities.
