Does the institution have a sustainability plan that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

The development of the sustainability plan included employee engagement and community outreach. Two particular groups were consulted, namely Campus Green and the Heritage and Environmental Sustainability Committee. Campus Green, a university-wide grassroots stewardship program made up of volunteer employees and students aimed at minimizing operational impact on the environment. The Heritage and Environmental Sustainability Committee provides oversight of governance and principles that guide operations of the Hatley National Historic Park campus with the goal of sustaining its heritage and environmental aspects. Both help contribute ideas and goals to carry through to policy level.

A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

 Reducing GHG emissions by 50% below 2007 levels by 2020.
 Becoming carbon neutral by 2010, in support of the Province of BC’s Climate Action Plan.
 Going “off-grid” by 2018.
 Containing and selecting development that follows green building design thereby safeguarding heritage designation and local ecosystems.

A brief description of how progress in meeting the plan’s goals is measured:

The university submits an annual Carbon Neutral Action Report, as required by the Government of BC. The report includes emissions-related measures as well as commentary of achievements against plan.
