As all computers and computer accessories are leased by the institution, they are returned to the leasing company at the end of the lease term. The leasing company recycles the materials, by either repairing the equipment or using components to build new computers, etc.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

RRU leases electronic equipment for three-five year terms. At the end of the term, electronic equipment is replaced and old equipment is returned to the leasing company for reuse and refurbishment.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for student-generated materials :

Royal Roads advises students of options for unwanted electronic equipment, depending on age, including resale, donation and recycling to ensure toxins are not disposed in the environment.
