A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed:
In 2000, RRU implemented a chemical-free cleaning program which includes the use of micro-fiber cloths for disinfection rather than chemicals. The micro-fiber cloths successfully remove bacteria from surfaces and the bacteria are dealt with when the cloths are laundered. There are no guidelines for the purchase of green cleaning products because at the time of inception there was a lack of selection of these products. The current list of products that are used includes Green Seal, Planet Clean, ACME, Oxygenic, and Nutri-clean.
