The LIC (Learning and Innovative Center) Building at Royal Roads has innovative water technologies, for example, collection of non-potable water to be reused for toilets and irrigation which will result in water savings estimated at 1.7 million litres per year. It has
95 per cent of construction waste diverted from landfill, efficient natural gas heating system, solar hot water system.
Energy performance to be optimized through the atrium, with "chimney effect" ventilation etc.
