A brief description of the composting or mulching program:
Royal Roads University has implemented a composting program on campus that includes all organic garden and grounds material. The deadfall trees are left to degrade in situ and are used to provide ecological habitat. Other tree, lawn and ornamental garden debris are collected and tub ground each year to be reused as compost in the gardens. This process produces between 200 and 500 cubic yards of compost annually and has been used on campus for the past 10 years.
