A brief description of the wildlife habitat program, policy, or practice:
The large forested area found on the Royal Roads University Campus provides habitat for deer, raccoons, squirrels and cougars, as well as mink and otter in the streams and ponds. The old growth forest provides habitat for a variety of bird species, including owls and eagles. Deadfall trees are modified for nesting habitat for various bird species. The salt water lagoon and foreshore area of the campus are part of the federal migratory bird protected zone.
