The new student orientation at Royal Roads University includes the following activities;

This handbook contains a section with the heading “Sustainability Initiatives at Royal Roads University” which describes how environmental sustainability is a key principle at the school. This section also gives ideas on how students can get involved with campus sustainability. The handbook contains the social aspect of sustainability practices at Royal Roads University. There is information on the student association which lists opportunities for social engagements and sporting events as well as social clubs. Aboriginal Relations and facts about student health care and undergraduate extended health care plans are also available. The economic aspect of sustainability is also addressed with information on career enhancement services, counselling services, financial services and financial aid and awards information.

• Once on campus all students are given a presentation about life on campus including the sustainability practices implemented at the school such as recycling, composting, carpool permits, free showers for cyclists in the recreation centre and chemical-free cleaning.
