A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:

General contractors follow a certain set of standards mandated by the university in regards to the materials they use. The university has indoor air-quality related plans for asbestos and legionnaires disease (separate from the Strategic Sustainability Plan). The university also has a consultant that does air monitoring regularly and after any construction. Filter changes are on a schedule, SchoolDude software program tells us when we need to do certain things for maintenance, and a report is generated via SchoolDude on a bi-weekly basis--which helps with accountability. Roosevelt utilizes the USEPA Portfolio Manager and generates monthly energy reports. The university utilizes ENERNOC real-time data to manage operation usage (to help us strive to be more sustainable by lowering energy usage in areas that we can, and by lowering our peak demand energy usage). ComED (utility provider) has an energy usage data system that shows us how we are doing. Our engineers do daily rounds to log all energy/water meters. All of these points help keep us accountable with our guidelines.
