In January of 2025 Rollins College signed the memorandum of understanding to become an affiliate with Earth Charter International, an external organization that puts forth ethical guidelines for sustainable leadership. Through this affiliation Rollins pledges to uphold their 16 principals “founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace”.

In 2023, Rollins implemented an ORCA compost machine inside our dining facilities in an effort to reduce the food waste on campus. The ORCA has been fully operational since, collecting roughly 30% of food waste produced in our dining hall.

Rollins DIEB (diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging) strategic plan was created in 2021 and has been fully implemented since 2023. This plan has key initiatives to address recruitment, retention, and cultivation of identity of a diverse employee and student base on campus. These have included the establishment of a DEIB leadership team, the creation of DEIB positions to address both employee and student wellbeing, revitalizing our inclusive education measures including adding faculty to our African American studies department and the addition of several IMCP (intercultural competency) courses, or the inclusion of IMCP learning in established courses. These address SDGs aimed at equity and quality education.
