The Bylaws for the College of Liberal Arts, our main academic unit, includes the following in the criteria for faculty evaluation of scholarship: “We recognize the value not only of scholarship in a particular academic discipline, but also of inter-disciplinary scholarship and pedagogical research.” The Bylaws for the Crummer School of Business do not mention interdisciplinary or other integrated research.

Rollins College is an AshokaU Changemaker Campus. Changemaker campuses commit to embedding changemaking across the institution and are encouraged to collaborate with other changemaker campuses. One example of a recent inter-campus research collaboration with other AshokaU Changemaker campuses is a National Science Foundation Research Collaboration Network Grant focused on training undergraduate biology students through community engaged, urban agriculture projects.

We have an open access publishing agreement with Cambridge University Press. Here is a link to an overview of the agreement. OA agreement - Rollins College, US

·       We also have an open access agreement with Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Here is brief overview of the agreement: 

o   ACM allows all Affiliated Corresponding Authors to publish accepted Eligible Articles open access with no fees, starting from the article's initial publication in the ACM Digital Library, and this is permanent.

o   Eligible Articles qualify for open access if published on or after the Agreement Effective Date or accepted before the Agreement's Termination Date.

o   Authors can choose between two rights assignment options:

o   ACM License: Co-authors retain copyright, and ACM gets an exclusive license to publish.

o   ACM Permission Release: ACM gets a non-exclusive license, and authors can share the article via Creative Commons (default CC-BY).

o   Authors, including co-authors, retain copyright to their articles.

o   ACM will deposit copies of Eligible Articles in participating institutions' open repositories for open access. If the article is open access, it will be the final published version; if subscription-based, it will be the final accepted manuscript.
