The class of 2026 (incoming first years), 2025 and 2024 all participated in an introductory DEI course as part of their orientation process to RWU. The class of 2023 also took a course on allyship during their junior year.
The majority of the class of 2026 also participated in the preliminary DEI session (the 16 workshops we hosted throughout June) which specifically focused on becoming an antiracist and being an upstander. The remainder of the class of 2026 will complete this experience in August.
To clarify: the RWU student trajectory will be a 3 part series in their first-year (two workshops and one everfi course) with a booster course on allyship in their Junior year.
Future planning for a senior experience that addresses diversity in the job search/workplace would round out the co-curricular RWU DEI experience.
