Committee Scope
The Sustainability Committee (SC) functions as an advisory committee for the administration that will identify, prioritize, and recommend sustainability initiatives across the university’s operations in alignment with the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). The SC additionally will serve as a conduit to strategic planning and measure the effectiveness of our initiatives, policies, practices, curricula, and research.

Ongoing Major Projects
• Perform annual review of sustainable practices on campus and develop a list of recommended sustainable priorities for fiscal year operating and capital investment.
• Organize submission of the AASHE STARS assessment tool. The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance
• Stay current on best practices beyond RWU through the AASHE conference attendance when practicable
• Maintain and promote a university calendar of administration, academic, and student sustainability events, including
