Does the institution have an on-campus garden where students are able to gain organic farming and/or gardening experience?:
Yes

A brief description of the garden:

The RMCAD organic garden is located behind the Shore building on the south side of campus and has been part of the campus for more than five years. The garden was created as an educational tool and is maintained by students who are interested in gardening and understanding the food cycle. The food that is harvested from the garden is used by students and faculty for group meals, and also occasionally donated to the perishable food bank on campus. In addition to the campus south side garden, during the summer of 2011, the Institute for Experiential Studies (IES) created a Pico Garden (small, perimeter garden) on the patio of the Carpenter building. The small, raised containers were built by the Visual Design II class and they were planted by student volunteers, most of whom had never planted a single plant. In the fall of 2011, IES plans a communal dinner with food from the Pico Garden and dinnerware made from the Ceramics department.
