The University's purchased electricity contract includes a requirement that RECs be purchased for 100% of the electricity sourced.

RECs are from: NewMix Wind consists of Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates (“RECs”), sourced from wind Renewable Resources located within the Geographic Region . “Renewable Resource” means any electric power generator meeting the eligibility criteria of a “New Renewable Resource” and an “Eligible Renewable Resource”, as defined in the Green-e Energy National Standard. Green-e Energy certifies that the NewMix Wind RECs procured hereunder meet the minimum environmental and consumer protection standards established by the non-profit Center for Resource Solutions.
