A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The Sustainability Ambassadors at RIT are responsible for student outreach and campus event management while under administrative coordination with the Department of Sustainability staff. In this role, individuals primarily aid in managing the sustainability outreach and education for events and programs.
In preparation for this role, Sustainability Ambassadors attend a mandatory two-day in person and online orientation which includes the following: learning about RIT Sustainability and our goals; delving into the SDG’s and their connection to college campuses; team building; sustainability engagement; cultural awareness and dialectics; and more.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
All RIT students - undergraduate and graduate, those living on campus as well as commuters. We achieve this by strategic program planning and advertising:
1) Programs are not limited to residence halls, and the majority of the programs are held in public spaces around campus, such as the Student Alumni Union, Campus Center, Sustainability Building, Quarter Mile, and Dining Halls.
2) All programs have a "campus groups" component. Campus groups is the engagement platform that RIT Student Affairs uses. All RIT students are required to use this app for event participation and attendance tracking. Sustainability Ambassadors also use this as a communication platform about sustainability initiatives and passive educational efforts.
3) Events are posted on the RIT Events calendar, and are included in RIT's "news and events weekly" newsletter that is distributed to all members of the RIT community.
