Zero Waste GPC

As part of a campaign management class, students proposed a campaign strategy to make the new RIT ice arena zero waste. Many of the proposed strategies were implemented and RIT is now working to make the Gene Polisseni Center (GPC) a zero waste facility.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
This has become a very popular volunteer opportunity for student clubs. One fraternity even received recognition from their national organization for their involvement in the program.

RIT Student Government established a platform called Paw Prints, that enables students to advocate for changes on campus. Sustainability has it's own tag as there are often campaigns posted that are sustainability related, such as banning plastic bags, expanding reusable togo containers on campus, etc. The Student Government Sustainability Committee utilizes paw print campaigns to determine their annual charges.
