Rio Salado College Sustainability Learning Outcome Definition:
Through increased exposure to differing points of view and content about current sustainability issues that may impact the world in the future, students will demonstrate broader knowledge of the key concepts of the subject matter, including the concept of the Triple Bottom Line. Additionally, students will demonstrate increased decision-making skills that will enable them to make well-informed decisions for themselves and their families.

The Residential Faculty at Rio Salado College worked collaboratively to develop the definition of sustainability as it relates to student learning outcomes. Those courses that include the above definition were determined to offer sustainable curriculum. Each Faculty Chair assessed the course offerings within the department to determine if the courses met the above definition.
