A brief description of the program(s):

Rio Salado College provides an incentive program to encourage instructors to embed sustainable topics into their courses. The program, called “RioLog,” is a funded opportunity that provides faculty with time and support for increasing the number of sustainable topics present in current courses or newly developed courses.

A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

RioLog faculty members receive training, funding, and institutional support for participating in the RioLog program. One recent RioLog project involved a collaborative effort among five disciplines to write a rubric for grading student knowledge of sustainability. Five faculty members from five separate discipline areas worked to develop the rubric and assignment aligned to the Rio Salado commitment to sustainability. The faculty members received recognition and monetary compensation for participating in the program.
