A brief description of the event(s):
Rio Salado College partnered with Focus the Nation and the National Wildlife Federation to host "The 2% Solution" Webcast. Focus the Nation is an educational initiative for global warming solutions that occurred at more than 1,000 universities in all 50 states. The Webcast featured an audience-based discussion of solutions for decreasing global warming pollution in developed countries by 2% every year for the next decade and beyond. Rio Salado College hosted the "Solutions for the First 100 Days" Webcast in collaboration with Education for Global Warming Initiatives. Education for Global Warming Initiatives creates opportunities for person-to-person dialogue about climate solutions and fosters education and action networks. The organization's mission is to stop global warming by promoting a clean energy future for America. Rio Salado College holds a Sustainability Brown Bag Event each semester. The event is comprised of guest speakers, informational sessions, and “green” companies. The event is open to the public, employees, and student population.
