The College submits an annual "Underrepresented Groups Report" to the Illinois Community College Board that shows progress has been made in increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in higher education. A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
The results from these groups were incorporated into the work of the Diversity Committee. Among the recommendations that have been implemented are the following: Offer diversity workshops - several were developed and began being offered in Fall 2007 and have continued since that time. All employees are required to attend diversity in hiring training prior to serving on a search committee. Technology needs and training are consistently monitored and updated as needed, including those specifically related to persons with disabilities.
