Richland College’s executive leadership team (ThunderTeam) is charged with advising and implementing policies, programs, and metrics to integrate diversity and equity on the campus, including the following:
1) Affirmative Action compliance
2) Diversity in recruitment and retention practices
3) Diversity in demographics of student population
4) Equity in serving historically underserved populations
5) Diversity among employee work-groups
Richland’s expanded Thunderteam sets achievement targets for institutional measures of diversity and equity on an annual basis with input from college councils. Strategic organizational actions and targeted departmental action plans are initiated to address performance on these measures. Thunderteam reviews monthly the progress on diversity and equity measures.

ThunderTeam is comprised of the following positions: College President, Vice-President of Business Services, Executive Director of Human Resources, Dean/Executive Assistant to the President, Vice-President of Teaching and Learning, and Vice-President of Student Development. Expanded Thunderteam includes the Associate Vice Presidents of Enrollment Management and Financial Services, as well as the Executive Dean of Planning and Research for Institutional Effectiveness, the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, and the Director of Institutional Research.

Richland’s VP of Student Development serves as the college’s Affirmative Action officer and oversees programs that support under-represented groups.
