Student Sustainability Research Incentives 

Does the institution have an ongoing program to encourage students in multiple disciplines or academic programs to conduct research in sustainability? :
Yes

A brief description of the student research program, including the incentives provided and any positive outcomes during the previous three years:
The Stockton Board of Trustees Fellowships for Distinguished Students program supports student-initiated projects of undergraduate research working in keeping with the educational philosophy and mission of Stockton. Fellowship awards in amounts up to $1,000 each are provided semi-annually contingent upon available funds. The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the program. Stockton’s Summer Intensive Research Experience offers 4-credit summer courses designed to provide students with hands-on study outside of the school year schedule. Our nursing program provides clinical experience on our campus’ own AtlantiCare Medical Center. The Stockton Grants Office Student Research Supplements enable student's full participation as research assistant in an externally funded project. Provost's Faculty Opportunities Fund supports student assistants related to scholarship in 2020 initiatives (learning, engagement, sustainability, global perspectives)

Stockton’s Research and Professional Development program support awards funding for studies that are consistent with the mission and goals of the College and which have the potential to lead to significant outside funding, publication in any field of learning, or projects that support special college-wide initiatives. Applicants may request funds for a variety of needs, such as salaries, supplies, student and professional assistance, publication subvention, and essential travel related to research. Provost's Faculty Opportunities Fund supports travel to conferences, professional services, supplies, or student assistants related to scholarship in 2020 initiatives (learning, engagement, sustainability, global perspectives) Stockton 2020 Initiatives program provides funding for programs and projects that address one of the four strategic themes (learning, engagement, sustainability, and global perspectives) and have potential for college-wide impact.

Subject Research Guides are developed by Library Liaisons who are subject specialists in programs offered at Stockton. The guides are one-stop shops that point students and researchers to resources in the Library and beyond. Finding aids and tools facilitate research and learning.
