All students participate in a diversity training program as freshmen during orientation. Additionally, presidents of student support programs for under-represented groups (such as the Black Student Association and the Hispanic Association for Cultural Enrichment at Rice) are invited to attend NCORE, the National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in Higher Education, an annual multicultural forum dedicated to improving ethnic and racial relations on campuses around the US.
