Does the institution use non-potable water (e.g., harvested rainwater or graywater) for irrigation and/or other applications?:
Yes

A brief description of the source of non-potable water and how it is used:

At the Rice Childrens Campus, rainwater is collected in an on-site cistern and used for irrigation. The landscaping is made up of a selection of native, drought-tolerant plants.

Additionally, condensate water produced by air handling units at the Biosciences Research Center is captured and piped to the South Plant to be used in the cooling towers.

Water pumped from beneath the stadium and the BRC parking garage is captured and used to irrigate an adjacent playing field and the baseball field.
