A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:
In an ordinary year, we estimate that we compost about 120 tons of landscaping debris. However, during the reporting year, we composted nearly 10 times that amount as a result of Hurricane Ike. We compost nearly all of our landscaping waste on-site, but the Hurricane Ike debris was collected and composted by an outside company. Since the reporting year, we have instituted single-stream recycling (spring 2011).
