A brief description of the facilities:
There are numerous outdoor bike facilities available for use. An inventory conducted in August 2008 found that Rice has 1,638 spaces for bicycles in its bike racks, some of which are covered. Indoor secure bike storage is available at the Rice Village Apartments as well as many of the residential colleges. Lockers are available for use at the Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center, the Rice Memorial Center, and most of the residential colleges. Shower facilities for bikers are available at the Rice Village Apartments, the Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center, Facilities Engineering & Planning, Rayzor Hall, Ryon Laboratory, Duncan Hall, McNair Hall, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Dell Butcher Hall, George R. Brown Hall, Herring Hall, Humanities Building, Anderson Biology, and Baker Hall.
