A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
The Sustainability Office is asked to present at RRC Polytech's student orientation events: Red River Ready. The presentation gives an introduction to the concept of sustainability in general and covers ways to be sustainable on campus including zero waste initiatives, sustainable transportation, sustainable dining and more. The presentation from 2021 was recorded and is available online as part of the Red River Ready materials (the 2021 video focused mainly on transportation since covid protocols affected many other programs). When in person orientation events are held for students, the Sustainability Office hosts a table to engage students around sustainability issues.

We also attend orientation for students living in residence to talk about living sustainably on campus, write an annual Welcome Back blog post with tips on being sustainable on campus, share tips from the blog in student e-news, and offer presentations to classes upon request.
