A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

Our E-Waste contractor ensures that environmental standards set by Electronics Product Stewardship Canada are met.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

E-waste such as computers, monitors, cell phones, old electronics and media are collected and stored until a sufficient load has accumulated. The Sustainability Office then calls Responsible Electronics Recycling to collect and recycle the materials.

Batteries are collected by the Environmental Health and Safety Office and are sent to Call2Recycle.

Where RRC has control over student electronic waste, it is handled the same as staff electronic waste.
