A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :

The Roblin Centre has the largest photovoltaic array in the Province of Manitoba. Installed for demonstration purposes, this technology spans the south facade of the building. The system has two major components - the solar array and the power conversion equipment. The solar array consists of 133 custom made photovoltaic modules in which solar cells are laminated between glass layers. The solar modules are incorporated into sealed glazing units of the building's curtain wall system.

The power conversion equipment (inverter) converts high voltage direct current (DC) from the PV modules to medium voltage alternating current(AC). The inverters connect the solar modules to the building's electrical system to
power building electrical loads.
