Red River College carries out all major renovation and new construction projects in accordance with LEED NC.

In November, 2011, the Heavy Equipment Transportation Centre (HETC) was awarded LEED certification, making it the among first learning facility in the Province of Manitoba be LEED certified. This is a notable accomplishment considering the industrial focus of the building.

The Greenhouse and Landscape Construction shop adhered to sustainable building practices including: passive solar heating, recycled materials, materials re-use (including high efficiency boilers) and rainwater capture.
