A brief description of the institution’s green event certification program:
The college has adopted green event guidelines. The 2022 Earth Day events followed these guideline, and many club events follow these guidelines.
Help make RVCC events environmentally friendly by requesting:
□ that attendees to bring reusable water bottles/mugs/thermoses
□ cloth tablecloths (for round tables, email studentlife@raritanval.edu and then confirm)
□ compost and recycling bins inside the room (include in Housekeeping work order)
□ buffet style food, avoiding single serving packaging (such as paper boxes for boxed lunches)
□ vegan and vegetarian options
□ lower-impact animal protein such as eggs, poultry and fish
For internal events, the inhouse caterer or event organizer will provide the following when applicable and feasible:
□ water dispensers or pitchers, not plastic water bottles
□ compostable paper cups and plates
□ coffee service with dairy pitchers, sugar bowls, wooden stirrers
□ cloth tablecloths for catering tables (can be provided for additional rectangular tables for a fee)

Information is provided in the information packet to catering customers. There is currently no public web page for this program. Culinart supported the program through FY20. The campus was closed and had no dining services in FY21. Gourmet Dining supported the program in FY22 and will continue to do so moving forward under their 2022 contract.
