A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :
In fall 2011, a solar array was installed in Lot 5 to power the Arts and Childcare buildings. It generates 446kW and meets approximately 90% of the demand of these two buildings. RVCC does not own the SRECs for these solar panels.

RVCC began purchasing wind RECs equivalent to 10% of purchased electricity, and later increased this to 35%. In December 2014, the college signed a wind REC contract for 100% of purchased energy.
