RVCC has committed to building only LEED Silver or better. The West Building (2007) was built to LEED Silver standards (though this is not recent enough to be included in the eligible building space). The Student Center (2014) was built to LEED Gold standards and is going through the certification process. The Science Center addition (currently under construction) will be LEED Silver.
The GreenScapes policy for construction projects was adopted as part of RVCC's Memorandum of Understanding with the EPA, and follows EPA guidelines.

The Executive Director of Facilities, Brian O'Rourke, is a LEED AP. He oversees the design and construction and ensures compliance with green building guidelines and policies.
